Abstract:

A microcomputer package was implemented to support real-time decisions for weekly and month-end water management at an industrial complex in the mountains of British Columbia. The rolling one-year look ahead analysis is updated weekly to provide information for on-going management of the reservoirs and for the monthly commitments to purchase supplementary energy from the regional grid. The package of programs is fully integrated into an automatic analysis procedure. Procedures are described and the usefulness of the approach is evaluated.
