Abstract:

Development of the augered cast-in-place pile system from origination in the late 1940's to the present state of the art is presented, with methods of pile placement, including reinforcement option, discussed and described. Also included are factors for consideration by the engineer, owner, or contractor to evaluate in selecting this type of pile.
