Abstract: Failures in reinforced concrete shallow-buried structures subjected to the effects of severe dynamic loads are reevaluated by employing a modified Timoshenko beam formulation which includes material non-linearity effects. The present numerical approach is applied for the analysis of eleven cases, and the results are compared to experimental data.
