Abstract: Since the establishment of the California Strong Motion Instrumentation Program in 1972, over 90 buildings have been instrumented extensively to measure their response during earthquakes. Significant strong-motion records have been obtained from many of these buildings. Many aspects of structural response can be investigated through visual examination of the records and through detailed computer structural modelling.
