Fatigue Life Evaluation of Welded Structural Details in Steel Highway Bridge

by Chitoshi Miki, Tokyo Inst of Technology, Japan,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Design, Analysis and Testing

Abstract:

Stresses in highway bridge members, fatigue crack propagation behavior and long life fatigue strength properties of welded members under traffic loadings and prediction of fatigue life by using fracture mechanics concept were studied. Through the parametric analysis on the fatigue life, one method to establish fatigue design curves for highway bridges is proposed.
