Abstract:

In this paper, nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete shear walls is studied by using the finite element analysis. We applied numerical analyses to a wide range of parameters, such as reinforcement ratio, vertical arial stress, compressive strength of concrete, cross section of columns and openings; these aspects were not included in the authors' experimental study. The stress states which could not be grasped in the experiments are also studied from the analytical results.
