Abstract:

The paper presents analytical studies of the buckling capacities and hysteresis behavior of angle-web members of truss-type girders. The eccentricity between the loading point and the cross-sectional centroid is considered and the changes of centroid due to plasticification of a cross-section are included. The formulation is based on the finite segment technique with large displacement control. Numerical results include buckling capacities and hysteresis loops for various slenderness ratios.
