Abstract:

Procedures are presented for the design of light gage cold formed girts and hot rolled girts. The effects of continuity, sag rods, and wall sheeting are discussed. Design procedures are presented for girts subjected to both wind pressures and suctions. Considerations relative to girts and their interaction with other building components are also discussed.
