Abstract:

Based on the study of a large number of hydrographs, a graphic solution is presented whereby the length of the hydrograph timebase can be directly read from the proposed graphic solution thus saving time and expenditure. The only variable required for this determination is the basin area, easily available from published sources. The graphic solution developed is applicable for watershed areas up to 2000 mi² and larger.
