Abstract:

This paper describes an investigation of wetlands impacts from an intensive center-pivot irrigation operation in a 17,000 acre portion of Nebraska's Sandhills region. Well data and precipitation records do not support the hypothesis that excess irrigation over an aquitard area has raised groundwater levels.
