Abstract:

The reliability of redundant systems under stationary Gaussian white noise excitation is investigated with emphasis on the dynamics of redistribution of internal forces after brittle failure of one or more system components. The upcrossing approach is used together with FORM/SORM integration techniques. It is found that consideration of the dynamics of redistribution may be important.
