Abstract:

The optimization of nondeterministic structural systems under random loads is currently performed by single-criterion reliability-based optimization methods. However, in structural design practice several performance criteria must be simultaneously satisfied. This paper presents a procedure for the reliability-based optimization of structural systems considering multiple performance criteria simultaneously. The problem formulation is given, the constraint method for solving this problem is described, and some results are presented.
