Abstract:

The paper presents some asbestos diseases: lung cancer, mesothelioma; gastrointestinal cancers; asbestosis. A historical perspective of asbestos-related diseases is given. The occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) regulatory history governing asbestos is discussed. Current asbestos health risks today are extrapolated from past exposure data and morbidity/mortality data.
