Elk Creek Dam is the second major Corps-constructed concrete gravity dam using RCC. The Elk Creek project is the first to include a series of design and construction techniques that feature cost savings and high placement rates typical of other RCC projects in the United States, while at the same time including new and innovative state-of-the-art techniques to control cracking, prevent seepage, and provide void free concrete.
