Abstract:

Concern over future sedimentation impacts at a proposed pump storage hydroelectric facility at Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River led to use of a numerical model to analyze lake hydrodynamics. The results from this model along with field data on sediment bed critical shear stress, were then used in a second, more detailed model to design protective dike configurations.
