Abstract:

This paper discusses development of an expert system for Environmental Design of Waterways Projects (ENDOW) by stream alteration specialists who were novices in artificial intelligence. The purposes of this case study are to aid other novice system builders and to disseminate information about ENDOW to potential users. Subjects covered include expert system software development, KDS software, PROLOG language, and others.
