Abstract:

The Ackers-White procedure for sediment transport has been modified to permit calculation by size fractions. The original logic has been retained, but A values for incipient motion have been determined for each size fraction based on the spread of the bed distribution. The new procedure has been tested against several sets of flume and river data.
