Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to 1) analyze main break failures and 2) incorporate other drinking water distribution system components into a data base management structure for reliability analyses. Reliability analysis should be a part of an overall operation and maintenance strategy evaluating repair, replacement and rehabilitation of drinking water system components. The distribution system is an important factor in the cost and quality of supplying safe drinking water to the tap.
