Abstract:

This paper presents the results from recently completed studies verifying the accuracy and applicability of a generalized one-dimensional model for dynamic routing of mudflows. Numerical results are compared to experimental data for laminar and turbulent dam break problems using various concentrations of bentonite slurries in an adjustable slope flume.
