Abstract:

The major pollutant discharges into Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay can be categorized as follows: municipal discharges, sewage sludge, combined sewage overflows (CSOs), individual industrial discharges, and dredge spoils disposal at the foul area. This paper discusses levels of contamination, effects of contamination, management, and future work to protect the environment and resources.
