Abstract: Various approaches of determining the structural response of steel multigirder bridges with cracked girders are presented. It is noted that linear finite element packages with three dimensional modeling capabilities give sufficiently accurate results. The computer time for the proposed approach is two orders of magnitude faster than the nonlinear analysis of the bridges.
