Abstract:

This paper describes the experience of the HEC in adapting, on a large scale, mainframe computer programs for the micro computer user. The paper addresses the technical issues involved in converting programs of various FORTRAN vintages, programming styles, and memory requirements using emerging microcomputer FORTRAN compilers in an environment of rapidly changing hardware capabilities.
