Abstract:

The current crisis in the nation's transportation infrastructure necessitates the development of innovative data management systems to facilitate and implement analysis algorithms and priority ranking techniques for optimal allocation of maintenance and repair funds. This paper describes a data management system, the Transportation Facilities Information System (TFIS), that is uniquely suited to the analysis of infrastructure data. Numerous examples of TFIS capabilities are demonstrated, thereby underscoring critical data management concerns in transportation infrastructure analysis.
