Part of: Effects of Deterioration on Safety and Reliability of Structures

Abstract:

An important element in the total package of Bechtel's engineering and construction services is the financing and commercial assistance offered in support of our client's projects. A typical proposal team will consist of a proposal manager, a cost engineer, a procurement specialist, and a senior Bechtel Financial Services, Inc. (BFSI) representative. Experience has shown that a close working relationship between financial planning and technical development allows a project to move ahead more surely and quickly than if these activities are separately undertaken. Also, a soundly structured commercial venture will be more attractive to lenders and equity participants and less risky to all project participants. Based on the financial and commercial objectives of the client and on technical data provided by Bechtel engineering, cost, and procurement personnel, BFSI assists clients in all aspects of project planning, structuring, and financing. Financial services are integrated with other Bechtel services and are available to clients, as required.
