Abstract:

This paper describes software for the hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater treatment works. HADES (the Hydraulic Analysis, Design, and Evaluation System,) provides interactive analysis of individual hydraulic components, computations of hydraulic profiles through a plant, and estimates of flow splits. This paper discusses the theory behind the package, with particular attention to flow distribution. The paper concludes with a practical example of its application at a large modern plant.
