Abstract:

This paper briefly summarizes the work carried out by a Task Committee on Drydock Design Criteria which was established by the Committee on Ports and Harbors. The Committee was established with the intent to review design criteria for the design of drydocks (both graving docks and floating), marine railways and vertical lift devices used for vessel repair and/or construction. The Committee was chaired by Dr. M. Yachnis, Chief Engineer, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. There were thirteen Committee Members that contributed to the work of the Task Committee.
