Response of Underground Pipelines to Dynamic Loads (abstract

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Dynamic Response of Structures

Abstract:

The results of an investigation of the forced response of an underground pipeline due to dynamic loads are presented. The pipe is modelled as a linearly elastic shell element and the surrounding soil is represented by both elastic and viscoelastic material models. The pipe-soil interface is modelled as a perfect bond. The beam on elastic foundation model is also studied for this problem.
