Abstract:

The control of linear systems in the presence of set constrained external disturbances has been investigated maintaining the states in a prespecified region by estimating the maximum reachable set. This paper takes an approach involving construction of an extension of the Lyapunov function method for design of stabilizing controls. Conditions are determined for the existence of controllers which will guarantee that the overall structural response magnitudes will be constrained to lie in a preselected region. Further, it is assumed that the structural parameters are known only to lie within given bounds. Based upon a set of matching conditions, weaker than those recently appearing in the literature, a continuous state feedback controller is obtained.
