Abstract:

The seismic response analyses of two major bridge structures have been conducted. In these two bridges, portions of the piles are either submerged in the water or free-standing within the isolation sleeves. Major seismic responses occurred below the footing level. The accuracy of the computed pile forces is essential to the foundation design.
