Abstract:

This paper is a presentation of the author's projection of size and design constraints of future containerships. There is a discussion of containers and on-deck container securing systems. Throughout the paper the author is addressing critical areas where the Facilities Design Engineer should be aware of the Naval Architects' problems, so that jointly a successful, complimentary container transportation system will result.
