Abstract:

This paper identifies some specific demands for innovation on power projects, reviews the alternatives considered to meet project objectives, and describes the resulting innovations. Examples of innovations applied to power construction include: philosophy in project planning and development, implementation of unique engineering features, considerations in foundation design, revised logic in concrete and steel construction schedules, special equipment rigging techniques, yard assembly, enhanced welding operations, and advanced electrical cable pulling methods.
