Abstract:

A procedure based on the displacement method of analysis has been developed for analyzing the behavior of beam reinforcement crossing the interior beam-column connections under seismic forces. The proposed procedure uses displacement (slip) as input and, unlike the other available methods, does not involve time-consuming iterative solutions of nonlinear equations. It is also shown to compare well with test results.
