Abstract:

A finite element program has been developed for the analysis of reinforced concrete two-dimensional structures. The element library of the program includes, in addition to standard beam and isoparametric quadrilateral element, special higher order plane-stress elements and a layered beam element, special higher order plane-stress elements and a layered beam element. Material constitutive models are based on nonlinear elasticity. Interactive computer graphics is employed in the pre- and post-processing. Numerical techniques used in the program are briefly described with the emphasis placed on ones most appropriate for framed structures.
