Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Waterpower '85

Abstract:

The New England Power Exchange (NEPEX) is currently using the HydroMAX Program to schedule daily hydropower operations for the 17 stations in the 11,250 square mile Connecticut River Basin. Hydromax is an integrated software database and optimization package which complements the expertise of hydro operations staff. The system is menu-driven and designed to be user-friendly. Benefits include automated data collection and archival, optimization to aid hydro schedulers, rapid response to changing river conditions, improved dissemination of hydro schedules, and improved hydro dispatching. The system will more than pay for itself in two years.
