Abstract:

It is imperative that lines of communication remain open between those who represent the 'state of the art' in safety. The common goal of these interrelated disciplines is to enhance nationwide highway safety. To do so, all organizations having responsibilities which deal with transportation and its inherent safety issues must share a common vision of cooperation and coordination with their counterparts. Open channels of communication between the various highway safety disciplines are essential to this common vision, as well as to the common goal of safer highways throughout the nation.
