Abstract:

This paper describes the procedures and parameters used for the design of the guideway substructure for the Dade County METROMOVER system. The substructure for this work is defined to include all piles, footings, piers and pier caps. (i. e. , all structural elements below the bearing pad level. ) The various elements of tasks consist of establishing guideway alignment, location of piers, selection of pier types and design of foundations.
