Abstract:

The potential public health risks associated with the agricultural utilization of municipal sewage sludge dictate the development of environmentally acceptable criteria for the disposal of sludge using this practice. The methodology presented here is intended for application in the derivation of regulatory criteria which limit the concentration of heavy metals in sludge applied to croplands to safe levels.
