Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Computer Applications in Water Resources

Abstract:

Two models for routing reservoir releases and computing reservoir elevations for the TVA reservoir system are described. The models are designed for use on a 16-bit minicomputer with a floating point processor. The models are provided as tools to enable the reservoir operators to quickly evaluate alternative operation schemes so that appropriate operating decisions can be made. The utility of the models is determined by their accuracy, turnaround time, and overall user-friendliness.
