Abstract:

Grout curtains were constructed in granodiorite bedrock as part of two earthfill diversion dams at a sanitary landfill site on the San Francisco, California peninsula. The curtains are three row, split spaced, and percussion drilled, utilizing a chemical grout. The resulting curtains are very effective and were accomplished at low cost within a tight construction schedule.
