Abstract:

Quality management programs are employed to assure the achievement of specific standards of performance. In the construction industry, quality management personnel face common problems in their efforts to deliver quality products, and successful quality management programs share several key basic principles. The US Army Corps of Engineers recently evaluated its quality management program to identify its strengths and weaknesses. A discussion of this analysis follows, including recommendations for improvement which may be applicable to other quality management programs.
