A Damage Function Using Structural Response Measurements

by Jerry E. Stephens, Purdue Univ, West Lafayette, IN, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Safety Studies

Abstract:

A new damage function is proposed that expresses seismic damage in terms of the range and number of cycles of plastic deflection experienced by a structure. This and other damage functions are evaluated for several reinforced concrete structures using force-deformation information obtained from response measurements.
