Abstract:

Improving public transit service has been a long standing goal in the St. Louis region. An alternatives analysis of the region's priority transit corridor was completed in 1984. It developed concise information for the major issues of local concern so that the community could focus on necessary transit investment decisions. This paper reviews some of the key project management and organization decisions made during the course of active work. This project, like others of similar magnitude and complexity, dealt with a diversity of technical, financial, and community issues on a day-to-day basis.
