Abstract:

This paper examines the scope of project management of public transport projects from a 'macro' viewpoint. To imrove the effectiveness of the management of an UMTA-funded project, the use of a Project Management Plan is proposed. The plan would accommodate the numerous internal and external demands on the project manager by establishing a comprehensive management framework. A sample outline of a Project Management Plan is provided as a starting point for the development of a project-specific plan.
