Abstract:

As a result of the decline in demand for new nuclear power plant construction the nuclear industry has experienced a major change in the nature of business opportunities. To meet the rising demand for retrofit and maintenance services for existing nuclear units Ebasco Services Incorporated has established the first office in the industry dedicated to providing retrofit services. This office has provided the base for Ebasco's corporate efforts in expansion into the retrofit market. The two primary objectives of such services are to improve plant performance and protect plant investment. These objectives are realized through constant upgrading of equipment, implementation of new technology and response to regulatory requirements throughout the life of a nuclear plant.
