Abstract:

There is a need for close cooperation between design and construction of levees on soft foundation for containing dredge material. The scope of this study included marine exploration, type of testing program, design and construction of levees to form a 15-acre marsh island with dredge material at the Point section of the James River, Windmill Point, Virginia.
