Abstract: The factors affecting stress cell measurements in soil are reviewed, evaluated and synthesized in this paper. Fifteen major factors are identified, and the method for taking into account each factor is described. Incorporating these factors will lead to better stress cell measurements through a more complete understanding of the interaction between the cell and the soil.
