A solution is presented of the differential equation of finite beams with elastic restraints, resting on a Winkler foundation in terms of the initial conditions at one end of the beam. This solution can be used to simulate beams on elastic foundation with different boundary conditions. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the solution. Results for beams with simulated boundary conditions agree with those for exact boundary conditions.
