Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present some recent laboratory model test results to study the variation of uplift capacity of pile groups with various shape, size, and pile spacings in loose sand. However, it may be pointed out that for all of these tests the length-to-diameter ratios of the piles were kept constant, and other variables such as soil type and degree of compaction have not been considered in this study.
