Abstract:

President Sangster recalls highlights of ASCE's 1974-1975 year, among them: The White House is listening more closely to Society views, as witness its thoughtful reply to ASCE recommendations as to spurring lagging construction. The first construction unity group, National Construction Industry Council, was formed with ASCE past-president Yoder as chairman, and ASCE president-elect Fox as a key sparkplug. A highlight of ASCE international activities was the VIP tour, led by President Sangster, of the USSR. Within ASCE, two measures are generating input to ASCE nationaldistrict and zonal nominating conventions, and the zonal grass roots meetings planned for next January and February. In professional conduct in the year past there was more activity than in any previous year.
