An extensive retaining wall model testing program has been made at the University of Roorkee, Roorkee, India. The results of passive loading experiments where the dry-sand backfill was not surcharged have been presented by Narin, et al. This note presents test results from experiments concerning a uniform surcharge applied on the backfill.
